Microwave Heating (Recommended)

First-time use: Heat for 1 minute on medium power (600-800W), then check temperature and shake bag to distribute the heat evenly. Add 30-second intervals if needed up to 1-2 minutes total.

Standard heating:
• Small flax seed bags (eye pillows): 10-15 seconds
• Medium to Large wheat bags (shoulder wraps): 1-2 minutes
• Extra Large wheat bags (body pillows): 1-2 minutes

Important safety tips:
• Always use medium power (600-800W)
• Never exceed 2 minutes total heating time
• Check temperature before use - it should be warm, not hot
• Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes if too hot
• Place a cup of water in the microwave alongside your wheat bag to maintain moisture
• Read our full safety guide for detailed instructions

Oven Heating (Alternative)

Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F). Wrap wheat bag in foil and heat for 10-15 minutes. Check temperature before use.

Safety Guidelines

DO:
✓ Check for damage before each use
✓ Test temperature on your wrist before applying
✓ Use on clean, dry skin or over light clothing
✓ Store in a cool, dry place when not in use
✓ Allow to cool completely between uses

DO NOT:
✗ Overheat - this can cause burns or fire
✗ Use if wheat bag is damaged, torn, or leaking
✗ Heat in conventional oven above 150°C
✗ Use on infants, young children, or anyone unable to remove it themselves
✗ Use while sleeping
✗ Microwave when wet or damp
✗ Wash or submerge in water

Cleaning & Maintenance

Surface cleaning: Spot clean the outer fabric with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Allow to air dry completely before reheating.

Removable covers: Many of our wheat bags have removable, washable covers for easy cleaning and extended freshness.

Refreshing the scent: The lavender scent will naturally fade over time. To refresh, add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the fabric cover (if removable) or store with dried lavender.

Lifespan: With proper care, your wheat bag should last 2-3 years. Replace if you notice:
• Musty or burnt smell
• Visible mold or moisture damage
• Tears or holes in the fabric
• Wheat grains leaking out

Cold Therapy Use

Your wheat bag can also be used for cold therapy. Place in a sealed plastic bag and freeze for 2-4 hours. Use for reducing inflammation, cooling relief, or soothing headaches.

Storage Tips

• Store in a breathable cotton bag or pillowcase
• Keep in a cool, dry location away from moisture
• Avoid plastic bags for long-term storage (can trap moisture)
• Keep away from direct sunlight

Troubleshooting

Wheat bag isn't heating evenly: Knead and shake the bag before heating to distribute wheat grains evenly.

Lavender scent has faded: This is normal. Add essential oil or store with dried lavender to refresh.

Wheat bag feels damp: Do not use. Allow to air dry completely in a warm, dry place for 24-48 hours.
